Resilient LTE Communicatoni for DSO Critical Infrastructure
This project focused on the deployment of a highly secure and redundant LTE-based network infrastructure for a DSO. The solution centered around the installation of industrial-grade LTE routers within metering cabinets used for network balancing and real-time control.
These routers serve as the main communication hub for the operator’s local monitoring and control environment, enabling reliable and secure connections with devices such as balancing energy meters, DCU concentrators, and PLC controllers.
In collaboration with our technology partner Intelliport, we provided carrier-grade LTE routers, customized to meet the client’s advanced cybersecurity and networking requirements, which are based on CISCO enterprise architecture.
The deployed routers form part of the operator’s critical infrastructure, adhering to strict European cybersecurity standards and ensuring uninterrupted operation in distributed environments. The architecture guarantees secure, redundant, and future-proof access to grid-side telemetry and control systems, forming the backbone of a modern and resilient Smart Grid deployment.
