Deploying G3-PLC Smart Meters for E.ON Group in Poland
As a subcontractor to Kaifa Technology, PySENSE was responsible for the end-to-end integration, customization, and deployment of G3-PLC-enabled energy meters as part of a large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project for Stoen Operator (a member of the E.ON Group) in Poland.
The primary communication technology used in this project was G3-PLC, combined with the DLMS/IDIS companion protocol, ensuring full interoperability within the European smart metering ecosystem.
To support system validation, we established a dedicated G3-PLC/IDIS interoperability lab at PySENSE, capable of simulating various communication and measurement scenarios—including LTE-based fallback communication and end-to-end security testing.
The project successfully concluded with a mass rollout of Kaifa meters across the Stoen Operator service area, fully integrated with existing DCU and HES systems.
